The term emergence comes from the Latin root emergere and refers to the process of appearing or arising. It is applied in various humanitarian and scientific disciplines. On the other hand, from an interdisciplinary perspective, emergence signifies the development of system-wide properties that cannot be found in its separate elements - “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
Due to the specifics of the cultural sector in Varna, many talented artists struggle to reach their audience. This is one of the reasons for the lack of collaboration between different generations of artists. Therefore, we believe it is essential to present emerging artists to the public in spaces that can help address these challenges. Through this project, we are creating such a space for creative work, where artists and audiences can exchange ideas and collaborate.
To meet these defined needs, we established Emergence Art Fest in 2022 in Varna. The festival aims to encourage and support the expression of emerging artists - those at the beginning of their creative careers, who have not had the opportunity to present their art to a wider audience and/or are not active participants in the cultural sphere. With two successful editions, we have built a network of like-minded individuals of different ages, from various cities and artistic disciplines, with whom we continue to collaborate beyond the grounds of the festival. We create suitable conditions for this through events and creative workshops focused on establishing mutual communication and by maintaining a space for dialogue, discussion, and networking.
